Maybe the word isn't "declining" so much as changing. I believe it is going through a self correcting phase brought on by the fanatics and fundies. While we who are being troubled by the radicals don't see them, there are more sane Christians than fundies. When they choose to flex their religious muscle there will be change. The worse the fundies become, the more they are brought to the attention of the sane ones and the more likely the change will be sooner other than later. I hope it is very soon before my current life here ends. It would be nice to be able to be what I am publicly with out being afraid of the result.

Im a Christian. I definitely note it online in general (message boards, chat, etc). In "real life" at work, when I go out with friends, I would also say it seems to be declining quite a bit.
EDIT: When I say Christianity, I am speaking about born agains; not the ones who say they are cause their parents are

Just like every other mythology, people will eventually lay Christianity to rest, just as they have with the religions of the ancient Romans and Greeks. Science is proving more and more how erroneous the Christian dogma is. It's only a matter of time before people come to their senses and adopt a more rational, healthy approach to living their lives. This time can't come soon enough for my taste.

A boulder is solid and appears to be able to last forever. Then there is a crack and two smaller boulders. Then the boulder is struck by wind, rain, and ice, and many cracks appear. after many centuries the boulder has become many large rocks. Over two millennia the boulder has disintegrated into a heap of sand with thousands of tiny bits of dissimilar rock. At that point the tides of time can begin to sweep it all away.
How's that for a quick parable.

Christianity is not declining world-wide. In Africa, Asia, and, particularly China, it is growing at an extremely fast rate. Europe considers itself too "sophisticated" to follow anything as provincial as Christianity. America has plenty of church goers who claim the name of Christ. How many of them have actually committed themselves to Jesus Christ is another question.

Yes it is.
I think that people are seeing that Christianity is a religion of mostly hypocrites so they are seeking a religion that isn't.
I don't know if they will find what their looking for but at least they realized that they should practice what they preach!

It's supposed to decline as it is written in the Bible. Only few will stay faithful till the very end.
