Yes would suggest checking your son's diet first to see if anything he is eating is causing the problem. Start with a vegetarian diet for 4 weeks and see if the symptoms improve. Along with this vegetarian diet, don't include milk or any dairy products. Avoid tap water. He can use it to wash and bathe but he should drink only purified water from pure water machines. Try it for 4 weeks. More if possible.

2 ways to resolve the problem

1.operation/lazer treatment to remove some of the sweat glands
2.apply medicated powder on his hands constantly

go to a dermatologist he might have hyperhydrosis..he can get shots or medication to controll the sweat glands...
