If it is at the beginning of a relationship, I would think it was fine and very romantic. If it was during a longer relationship or marriage during which the man was very possessive, extremely jealous and wanted to keep all other contacts away from her, I would take it as a BIG RED FLAG that this guy is obsessed and potentially dangerous.
Depends on the circumstances a lot. I have been married for 15 years. If my husband calls me, it's usually because he has lost his wallet or cell phone and could I please search the house for whatever it is... it is sweet.....
but he does still call to say I love you, just not every day. That would freak me out.

It could mean that he is showing love but most likely means that he is being insecure and clingy. In some cases it could be a sublte form of controlling behavior as well. If the daily calls seem to be beginning to get annoying then that should be a warning sign that there is MORE to it than just a show of affection.
