Everyone tells me that i have really thick cartilage on my ears &that that'll affect the pain i will undergo during a piercing. Does it really hurt more? &If i go to Claire's &get it done with a gun, would it hurt more than getting it done with a needle?
Because one of my friends got hers done a month ago in Korea &They just used the earring and stuck it through &she said that it didn't hurt @all.
Honestly, please share :] Thanks!

Cartilage doesn't hurt that much, don't worry.
Don't get it done with the gun. Your whole ear will bruise. Trust me, I made that mistake. And you also run the risk of shattering your cartilage, which isn't pretty. Go for the needle. It'll be quicker and better.

I have four cartilage. One of them is through quite thick cartilage and that actually hurt the most. But it is done quickly and just stings for awhile. I haven't had a piercing done with a gun for about 10 years, and would definitely suggest getting a cartilage piercing done with a needle. Don't go to Claire's. Go to a licensed piercing parlor where they actually know what they are doing!!
Good luck.

to add to the others - gun piercings (as at claires) are the worse way of getting cartilage piercings - the guns aren't sterile, and the people are untrained. it also increases the likelihood of infection and other problems because of the trauma of forcing the blunt earring through your ear
getting it done by a professional with a sharp, sterile needle is always the best. they'll also give you aftercare advice and you can go back to them if you have a question or problem

Hey, I got mine done with a gun. It doesn't hurt, so there is nothing to worry about. The thickness of your cartilage doesnt matter. The only thing that hurts, not mattering how yo get it done, is when you go to sleep on that side for a while. But after that it's fine.

personally i think cartilage hurts, i have 3 and they all hurt, you're not supposed to use a gun cause supposedly it can cause more infection or something like that. and the thinkness might have a bit more pain cause there is more catilege to go through. and claire's isn't the best place to do it cause they are not professionals and they might f-up.

this is totally familiar. it is going to stay swollen for as much as two weeks. Do sea salt soaks 2-three times daily, different than that LITHA (pass away it the hell on my own). do no longer touch it, do no longer use rubbing alcohol, dial cleansing soap, any cleansing soap, bactine or something different than the sea salt soaks. attempt to sleep on the different area, because of fact the tension will worsen the piercing and postpone therapeutic.
