The biggest engine Chevrolet made in 1969 was the 427cu in big-blocks. The all aluminum ZL1 was introduced in 1969 with 430HP.

In 1969 the largest was the 427ci. the 454ci. engine did not become available until 1970.

GM did produce a 472 Cadillac engine that year...not a Chevy though.

Chev had a 396-454 C.I. 8 CYL. 1965-1996

The 454 could and was built up to develop 500 HP and that is the engine used in the Caddy as well as some other big cars.

Not sure if it is still available or not due to EPA regulations.

If I remember correctly, the corvette had a 427.
