So, if you can't see it well- why don't you ask your mom to take a look? She obviously knows what it looked like before, and is familiar with the territory. You didn't say how old you are, but could it possibly be something as simple as a plain old pimple? They do happen. Birthmarks are still skin, suceptible to breakouts just like the rest of you. As you say, your dad had a RARE form of cancer, so it's highly unlikely that's what you have. Millions of people are born with a variation of things called birth marks, and aside from being odd looking sometimes, they are rarely a problem for anyone. Chances are your particular birthmark has a name, even. There are port wine stains, strawberries, angel kisses or stork bites-same thing, just different name, cafe au lait marks, just to name a few. So quite dreaming up worst case scenarios and scaring yourself half to death. Get mom to take a peek, show the doc if you need to. Depending on what kind of birthmark it is, yes, a dermatologist may be able to remove it. But why bother if it's otherwise healthy skin? Removing it will leave a scar you may not like any better, and depending on it's size, it might be a big scar. And it will involve needles, unfortunately. They don't tend to give you general anesthesia for something like that. But that's a worry for another day. In the meantime, get yourself some peace of mind. Show your mom.

I'm guessing from the fact your Mom monitors it for you, that you are still relatively young?

Could be a bug bite as you suggest or possibly a zit!

If it stays there for more than a week, I would make an appointment to see a Dr.

If they do need to remove it, a lot depends on size.

I had a 1cm raised mole removed from my back at age 15 (bra strap kept rubbing top off it!).

It was done under local anasthertic and had about 4 stitches, that disolved after about a week.

If it is very large, or deep, then it is probable they would use general anasthetic.

I have random red bumps and had a doctor look at them. He said they were not a problem and were easy to remove. I decided not to. Since your mother is monitoring them, if it looks like a problem, I think your mother would take you to the doctor.

You'll need to have it looked at by a specialist. Know that cancer does not promote itself in an alkaline environment and you should adjust your diet accordingly.... IM me for details.

I'd also suggest a goog green foods/pro-biotics/fiber supplement ASAP - See G-12 below
