Caffeine can make you jittery and lose concentration more easily. It could also increase anxiety. But, if you drink a lot everyday, you will become accustomed to it and have fewer side effects.

While I was studying for exams, I would drink three or four cups of coffee a day. Once exams finished, I stopped drinking coffee completely and I became anxious, had headaches, and all I wanted to do was sleep. I've never had a loss of focus from drinking too much coffee - if anything, it helped me focus more. Maybe the reason you've been anxious is because you've been decreasing your caffiene intake without realizing it? I'm not sure, but I recommend that you steadily cut it down because it makes you feel like crap after a while.
