As a girl who has a boyfriend serving in Iraq, and many marine friends, I need to know if this is true. I understand if they oppose the war, but haven't they heard of supporting the troops? Anyway, I don't want to jump to conclusions until I know the truth. I mean, I love a grande nonfat mocha as much as the next girl.... but if it is true I will never go there again, and will make sure that everyone I know, is aware....Thank you!!!!

To answer your question below...what I find is wrong with that, is that why should the men and women who are serving our country be denied this little comfort of home? I can understand if they didn't want to sell it to the politicians..but to me..this is b.s.

I don't mean to sound like a bi*&# but i refuse to beleive that denying our troops something like coffee will bring them home sooner. i mean...clearly, the gov't would just send some cheaper, more accesible coffee...not trying to be mean, I know your intentions were not mean (unlike lots of people who write mean things for no reason)...

I wold love to know why people on Yahoo answers think they can say anything, as rude and offensive as they wish..and that is ok.....love the word "gullibility" mentioned below. I am an ivy league educated woman. So if you want to feel superior, go elswhere. I was merely trying to find a concrete answer.

Interesting story on the Snopes link. Glad to hear that their employees are making donations. Odd to read that their "corporate policy" forbids the company as a whole to donate.

Personally, I HOPE that the Pentagon isn't spending the money for "Starbucks" coffee since it costs so much more than "regular" coffee.

I frequently carried a 10 or 50 pound bag of BEANS with me to sea. Navy Coffee wasn't always the best, and my shop would have Kona each night.

I boycott Starbucks just on the basis of their prices.

Look, this thing is a total rumor. Check out the Snopes link provided. They tend to do pretty good research on anything you might hear over the Internet. Most of the emails going around don't have much basis in truth so when ANYONE tells you something was heard over the email check it out. And you should check it out if they tell you they "heard" it from someone else anyway, even if it wasn't over e-mail. Incorrect rumors get spread when you don't.

What the Snopes site says about Starbucks employees being encouraged to give the free coffee they get to military members if they want to is completely true. In fact, some of that coffee will go out with DH when his sub deploys thanks to some generous family members and their friends who work at one of the stores.

Now, as you're still arguing about it hours after the link was posted I have to question your gullibility.

Yes they refused to send the troops coffee. Starbucks supports gays and lesbians but the do not support the troops. the very people who enable us to be who we are and do what we do.

Denying the troops supplies as cold as it sounds is actually a way to save their lives.
Think about your boyfriend not getting his supplies, coffee, or whatever, and bush having no choice but to bring him home. Your boyfriend and you would be better off because of that denial of coffee for he would be in your arms in one piece and alive with his family.
