Name of the dormitory building (usually has "Hall" in the name)
Room number

If it is a dorm with small rooms, normally the number of the room, the name of the hall, and either the address of the hall or the name of the college,, city and ZIP. Depends on how the college does things. Most big dorms have boxes for mail so address would be something like
John Jones
Box 1234
Undergrad Quad
Iowa State University
Ames IA 50010.

Colleges assign mailboxes to the kids in the dorms. Often, these boxes will have a different zip code from the town where the campus is located, because the university usually has its own post office.
Chances are that your friend hasn't had time to write and let you know what the address is, so just call their house and get the correct address from their parents, if you're on good terms with them. If not, your friend will write soon.
