I've been dating this guy for a few months. I like him a lot, but tend to allow my hormones to point me to other guys because I'm sexually unhappy. Not to mention the fact that he is addicted to kiddie cartoons (seriously). He watches nothing else. I've tried talking to him about trying new and different things, but he doesn't seem to grasp the concept. My kids adore him, he's goal oriented, and he's stable. I really don't want to mess up a good thing but sex is important to me. The fact that he watches nothing other than Gummie Bears, Gargoyles, Smurfs, etc. and calls movies like Apocalypto and Meet Joe Black are stupid, can slightly be overlooked. What should I do?

Well, one thing you need to know about men.....they ALL are perpetual kids inside. :) They don't ever really grow up!! :) I say that with all the love and sense of humor I can muster!! My husband looooves the cartoon shows on Fox like Family Guy and American Dad. I watch them with him and think they're pretty funny too. Alot of guys like watching cartoons. As long as he has great values, treats your kids and you well, and has a great future, then I wouldn't dump him. The sex thing is definitely a downer. Just because a guy is small doesn't mean the sex can't be great. You just have to come up with other things to try. A guy can definitely please you in other ways. It IS important to have some similar interests. If you have other things in common, then I would just work on the r'ship and stick with him.

If this guy makes you happy, surely sex can't be that big of an issue? How old are your kids? Maybe look at it that he can watch cartoons with them and that can be bonding time for them and a chance for you to have a break? It seems like your being too critical of him, give the guy a break. Not trying to offend here, but this question seems kind of shallow..

If you aren't happy with him, and aren't attracted to him, what your kids think of him shouldn't play into it. You can't stay in a relationship based on your kids. Your kids like him because he is like a kid....not a bad thing, but it doesn't make for a good life partner, at least not for you. You haven't said anything about "love." Why not get out of this before things get too complicated.

Have you talked to him directly? He might not even be aware that these things are bugging you. I doubt you'll be able to keep him from watching cartoons (and even if you did he'd be miserable), but if you talk to him openly he may be willing to do things you like more often.

If you guys are serious, counseling would be something to consider as well.

LMAO! It's great to have a guy who is adored by your kids, but girl you better start storing some batteries for your new "lover" buzz buzz. If sex wasn't the issue, do you see yourself happy with him?

Define "small"?

Incidently, Meet Joe Black is complete trash, just for the record.

It's sad if you chose sex over a stable relationship.

Maybe you need to mature a bit before you get serious with anyone.
