I think the best thing a person can do at a funeral is pick a specific memory you have of him, tell everyone what you really liked about him. You don't have to be perfect or poetic, just be genuine.

You can't use someone else's speech to give a eulogy. Simply tell a story about your father in law that you want to remember. It can be funny or sad or simply how he made you feel when you became married to his child. If he wasn't a nice person, simply make something up like "He was a great father, husband and man". But if you loved him and he was a great guy, all you have to do is say that. I'm sorry for your loss.

Just speak from your heart. You don't have to have some fancy formal speech memorized. Just tell the people there what you most remember about him, how he impacted your life or the lives of those around you, or maybe even what you think his legacy will be. I personally think that people will actually enjoy and remember a heartfelt speech, tmore then a boring one that is not as personal.
You will do fine if you are sincere!

well you could start by saying how u felt the first time u met him, how you grew up to appreciate him ( if u ever did)
mention a memory of him that made u laugh, or a about something he did for you that made you appreciate him more.

Say mostly sentimental things, but maybe put one happy funny memory that people can appreciate and smile to, maybe even laugh.
