As they are preparing for there missions, they have a list of necessities to purchase, for a missionary that is serving to a foreign country, wouldn’t a seer stone be a useful tool in helping him to translate things that aren’t written in his native tongue?

What about the ones that still struggle despite all the angels and training in the MTC?

A seer stone would rock. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be any in stock at places where I buy.

If you find a supplier, then please also ask if they carry:
-Burning bushes that give advice to free entire nations (and keep out pesky neighbors)
-Staffs to heal snakebites
-Something portable to carry important items of covenantal value, like, oh... an ark?
-A staff that draws water from rocks, splits oceans, and calls God's wrath from above; handy in desert/ocean climates and at ward BBQs when lighter fluid isn't available.

These could all come in handy for a mission as well.

The missionaries fully understand how The Holy Ghost works, unlike Joseph Smith at first. The Lord provided something to help him transition easily from the world into truth, I think. He still has to use The Holy Ghost (id est: the urim and thumim isn't magical) but it is kind of like reading off of a cheat sheet...something physical to remind him how it all works.

Even he eventually stopped using the urim and thumim before the translation was complete. It is interesting to see how he grew over time. Have you ever read Richard Lyman Bushman's biography of Joseph Smith?

...of course I realize this question was antagonistic. I just hope you read what I wrote.

Cause they have the Missionary Training Center (MTC). They go and study and learn their new language very quickly. I heard the US government tried to emulate the language training for foreign ops, but as a govt organization they did not allow all that "silly" prayer and fasting and for some reason their recruits just couldn't catch on as fast as all those missionaries....

The Holy Spirit already helped them to learn the new language at the MTC so don't worry, they will do totally fine without the stone. They have tongues of angels!

try taking a trip to ghana where missionaries learn french and swahili. but if you dont know english like many foreigners they must learn english, french, and swahili. thats just one example what about other missions like in the phillipines where you sometimes have to learn 4 different dialects. learning how to use the spirit is key to receiving the gift of tongues. because joseph smith did not have the time to learn the hebrew language and the translation needed to be done in a specific amount of time the lord gave him the stones to translate to speed up the work. The book of mormon became a conversion to many since its first publication and continues to convert many today. since the establishment of the lds church in 1830 we now have 13M members. missionary work must go forth!

Do YOU know where to purchase seer stones?

Oh, and those missionaries who have problems with learning a foreign language? I heard once that they are sent to Hawaii.

Hey, that's what I heard!

They have Heavenly Father watching over them, and that is enough! The power of prayer can be awesome, to be sure!
If they are going over seas they learn the language of the country they will be going!
Thanks Black! You are better than a commercial!
