I'm moving to the states from the UK and would like to use my computer equipment and monitor which is all UK plugs and I would be grateful if someone can tell me where I could find a converter which would allow me to do this if possible. Thank you.

You will have to look at the back of your computer to see whether there is a universal power switch that you can change from 220 to 110. If there is, then you can buy adaptors from UK to US at many hardware, drug and travel stores. If you don't have such a switch, then you will have to buy a 110-220 transformer, which are less common to find, but which have outlets in the UK 220 style. We sold them at Elliott's hardware in Dallas. The other problem that I know less about it is the 50Hz timing you use vs the 60Hz we use. if the monitor uses 50Hz from the power line, usually to avoid interferance from the power signals in the air, then it won't function well here. If all the signals are generated internally, then maybe it will.
