I missed one house payment and they put it on my credit report. How much is this going to damage me?

Late payments are major score killers.

If you have had an excellent history of paying on time, you might ask the creditor for goodwill in not reporting or in removing the late payment notation if they are all ready reporting it.

I wouldn't worry to much about it if its the only late payment. Also if it was not over 30 days it probably won't show at all, only payments over 30 show on your report. Like the previous answer said, talk to the creditor and they may not report it.

If that is the only negative on your report, it should not hurt you much. After a few months, it should make much less difference.

A lot; you should get this removed with do it yourself credit repair. Might be the best 20 bucks you ever spent.
