do you agree with mothers when they say that radios and music videos make their children whores?

i know this is a typical teenage thing for me to say but radios dont do that.

they need to take better care of their children. i do agree that media does push that stuff hard on children but it the parents job to be a parent and not let their kid turn into whores and jerks. the kids do need to be brought to alittle of it or when they get a taste of it later in life they get messed up but.

do you think the media makes children into jerks and whores or are the people just doign thier jobs?

No, parents who don't discipline or set rules are why children are becoming whores. For instance, look at all of the parents who allow their children to dress as prostitots and "flaunt" their bodies for young men and older men to oogle. It's amazing why you'd even ask this when it's obvious that mass media has little influence on parenting skills, or lack thereof.

Good question and good points.

I have never thought that the media is turning children into whores or what ever else they are being labelled.

Parents need to be parents and not a friend when it comes to discipline. If my child wants to listen to songs that contain explicit lyrics I say no! In Australia we just had a newspaper report saying Kylie Minogues underwear range were making young girls grow up too fast. Last time I checked her underwear was for teens and over and not preteens without any 'assets' to fill out a bra. If preteens are getting their hands on her underwear range then it is the parents that are buying them and therefore allowing them to be all grown up. Yes kids are influenced by the media but it is up to the parent to put a stop to it. In this day and age I would not want my child to be wearing clothes that are too old for them.

First and foremost, I believe its all relative to parents not doing their job, but I firmly also believe that peer pressure can sway the most well taught child astray.

Secondly, if you want to see a fine representation of whores, look at any dance show on tv and you will see women grinding their posteriors into mens groins, while the man simulates spanking them.

Young women have lowered their standards so extremely low in life, and we all know that when a woman lowers her standards, the rest of life follows. Male will only keep their standards on a parallel plane equal or below that of women. Thus, you see what is happening to society.

Children are wildly out of control and there is no sign of letup.

Well, TV should not be showing certain images before 10pm, and small kids should be in bed by then. As a parent and aunt, there is NO WAY I would by my daughter or my niece the BRATZ dolls. They look like hookers. Where does a kid get the money to by the slutty clothes? Their parents mostly. Parents need to be parents and not their child's buddy. They need to quit buying these clothes or quit giving them money to go buy their own clothes without them there to supervise. Brittney Spears, Madonna, Lindsey Lohan, etc are HORRIBLE examples.

The media provides that influence - and that paired with the lack of guidance from (some) parents allows children to be overly influenced by the overly sexual and regressive nature of pop music.

We can't put the blame in any one direction.

I think it does have bad influences. I mean, listen to how teen talk these days "Ain't wees goin' to da mall?". And they think it sounds GOOD!!

That kind of talk comes from music and media.
