As long as the skirt is a straight skirt and not a pleated kilt. Paired with a nice shirt, sweater or blazer it should look very professional. Leave the pleats to the school girls.

Sure, provided that youve got on some pumps and stockings and a dress blouse with a matching jacket to the skirt, if you have one. Whenever I've had to dress business formal, I normally go with solids as far as colors go.

I think as long as it doesn't look like a kilt (or is actually a kilt), it's fine. I agree with the others - dress it up with a blazer and stockings/tights. In the colder months you could wear it with a cashmere sweater.

Maybe if paired with a solid-colored blazer, but in general it's a little too Catholic-schoolgirl.

thats ok, as long as the remainder of your clothes are profesional too. If you are concerned ask your boss or co-workers. If its an interview the more modest you are the better.
