wards--but for animals?

where diseases cannot jump animal to animal.

Mad cow isn't contagious. It comes from eating brains of previously infected cows. Hoof and mouth is so contagious they probably wouldn't want to take the chance. I don't know if they have ever been treated though.

With BSE (mad cow), the incubation period can last for YEARS, during which time, there is no sign that the animal is infected.
