my boyfriend seems to always drink at night. he told me he would go buy long island ice teas at night somtimes..... his neighbor also is always asking him to give him a ride to the liquer store. when i sleep over he has been making trips to the liquer store. one night i asked him not to drink and he kept on saying he was going to go and when i told him whatever do what you do he actually left and got drinks.... now he's a changed person and he's not as sweet as he use to be and he has said things to me i never would expect to come out of his mouth, such as he dosn't know about our relationship and other things that he would never ever say.

If he won't go a night without drinking then he's a whine-o. He has gotten comfortable with you, if he is doing/ saying mean or disrespectful stuff, it will only get worse. If he's a different person when he's drunk, that is the who he is, the drink only bring it out.

sounds like he's chosing alcohol/friends over you. Doesn't mean he's an alcoholic tough... another thing i've noticed in these situitions is that when a women pushes her man to not do something... drugs, alcohol or anything of the sort it kinda has the opposite affect. Alot of the time it's becaues when a person trys to talk about these things they kinda point the finger and put the person on the defensive. If you truely feel he has a problem make him think out of the box and see himself from another person's point of view. Don't be over bearing during the conversation... make him admit (if he does it) that he drinks alone... drinks to forget about his problems etc. Give him another outlet... let him know your there for him if he's experiencing emotions he can't deal with.

he deffinatley sounds like an alcoholic.

He probably hasnt changed since the start of your relationship but he is a different person when he is drunk and it sounds like he is drunk alot.

It is really going to be hard for you because when he drinks he probably says not nice things or things he dosnt really mean and he has no controll over this so this probably wont change.

goodluck!

Yes, I was in a similar situation. He always had to drink to be with me. I finally had had enough and left him.

In the book "He's just not that into you," drug/alcohol abuse is a big no-no. I really suggest reading the book.

It sounds like your boyfriend does have a bit of a problem. And if he is acting like a different person, he may be in deeper than you think. You should try talking to him about it.

The problem seems to be your excessive nagging. Open him a beer and then pretend you're bobbing for apples for attonement.

If he keeps drinking, tell him you'll break up if he doesn't stop, or find a boyfriend who doesn't drink-good luck.

The man can't enjoy a cocktail or two without you jumping all over him?

Has he also posted on yahoo answers complaining about your incessant nagging?
