G.V. is correct. At the moment, NYC is at "High" (Orange - 4), and the rest of the state is at "Elevated" (Yellow - 3). This is nothing new, these levels have not changed for some years.
To clarify, nobody is on the highest level, "Severe" (Red - 5). It never has been; not for NYC, not for any part of the U.S. Please check your information before making such statements.

It has been at the highles level for many months now.
They had the internet scare some time back.
Unfortuante fire in the financial dist last night and two firefighters died. Unrealted tradedy but NYC is at the highest level sorry to say
