and in what timespan? 10 drinks in an hour? 20? I've never been drunk but I plan on visiting New York at some stage so I don't want to do anything I may regret later.

I know I'll probably not remember answering this tomorrow, but,...Just try to eat when drinking. Believe me, you don't want to black out- you end up with all sorts of cuts and scraps. You have people looking at you funny. All consuming guilt eats away at you until you are nothing more than a shell of a man. Your chance at a political career is shot. Also, once you black out for the first time, it seems to happen more often.

Erm, 20 drinks in an hour would probably kill you. Hell, 20 drinks in one night would make you wish you were dead.

Believe me, black out drunk is not fun once you wake up. If you don't want to do anything you regret, don't get THAT drunk. Stay in control and you'll be fine. Or drink as much as you want and prepare your conscience for anything?

Best way to live life is to regret nothing, because everything teaches you something. So you lost a hand? Well you learned not to pet the bear.

This question is almost impossible to answer. If I can recollect anything I won't know how much I drank. I guess if you had somebody sober enough to tell you how much you drank you might come close to answering this, although even then they can't tell you when you began to lose recollection.

The few times I have been this drunk were after a lot of hard liquor. At least half, but probably more like 3/4 to a full fifth of liquor.

Take a 5'th of Bacardi 151, pour half of it into a McDonald's Super Size Coke, and sip on it. Gradually you will sip more and more per gulp and you will get drunker and drunker as a result. At some point you will enter the black out stage and forget all the pains of life, until you wake up somewhere you don't want to be.

-Now if you want classy advice, that ain't my style.

About 20 beers and a couple of shots in less than 10 hours.

10-20 drinks in an hour is asking for alcohol poisoning. If you aren't driving, 2-3 depending on what's in them-if driving, no more than one/hour-that's the rate your liver can clear the alcohol.

I don't think it's even possible to have 10 drinks in one hour, much less 20-if you didn't get alcohol poisoning, you would have to pee constantly! It varies from person to person, and some people don't ever black out (I usually remember everything with perfect clarity). Just pace yourself, and know your own limits.

Everybody is different because of metabolism, weight, and fortitude.

If you think that you are going to go to the city and drink yourself to oblivion, then you really need to reconsider your choices.
If you do not want to lose control, then stop drinking when you feel tipsy.
I suggest that you enjoy the nightlife. Don't let the nightlife enjoy YOU!
