Me and my husband are moving and all the apartments we find say that you need a doctors note for a pet. I am going to the doctors for anxiety because I think I have it. Can you get a doctors note to have a pet for that?

I also had a miscarriage 2 months ago and it has been hard for me, but I do not have depression. Does anyone know of a website or anything that shows what you would need to be diagnosed with to have a doctors note for a pet?

I'm on the same boat. i have gotten a dog since my fiance was transferred to Portland for his work. and recently i had a miscarriage. And I just moved into an apt on my own for now and i have a dog that i got because of the the miscarriage for therapeutic reasons. and I've found out that my apt does not allow dogs only cats unless i have a Doctor's note. so i called my doctors office spoke with them about the situation and they were really understanding because animals are good comforters. so they are mailing me the doctors letter in the mail saying that i need a dog for my loss and it wasn't very hard at all.

Well I have heard that you can get a doctors note to bring a pet on a plane with you if you have anxiety- I would imagine it would be the same for an apartment. I would just ask the Dr. when you go for your appt- it's usually pretty easy to have them write up a note.

You can definitely get a doctor's note for a pet. Pets are very good companions to have around the house. Mine help me relax and not stress out so much. I'm by polar and have a lot of anxiety issues. So, GET THAT LETTER! God Bless

This should not be used lightly. Service animals are for people with severe problems. Having pets has shown to help people that are depressed, but using anxiety for a reason should not be vaild. If I was a doctor I would not sign a note to that effect.

I think they probably mean a note saying you need a service dog, like a seeing-eye dog, or a dog who can detect when you are going to have an epileptic seizure. I'm not familiar with service dogs being used for anxiety. Sorry for your loss.

It's not "expoliting" the wellness care system. You don't must make your surgeon "forge" a word. She will not be asking her medical professional to assert her animal is a licensed provider animal. A observe for a associate pet is one-of-a-kind and rather more easy. I received one for my daughter considering that of her household history of mental instability. First-class guess is to talk to your doctor and your landlord. Your landlord will have to have a document they may be able to fax to your surgeon to get a signature and authorize the partner pet.

this is not any longer "expoliting" the well being care gadget. you do no longer could desire to make your scientific expert "forge" a word. She isn't asking her scientific expert to assert her animal is an authorized provider animal. A word for a companion puppy is different and lots extra trouble-free. I have been given one for my daughter because of fact of her kin historical past of psychological instability. only right guess is to communicate on your scientific expert and your landlord. Your landlord ought to have a checklist they are in a position to fax on your scientific expert to get a signature and authorize the companion puppy.
