It goes to your stomach, the same way as if you were standing or sitting upright. The muscles in your "swallowing tube" force it down...it is not gravity that takes it to your stomach, but muscles contracting.

Gravity has nothing to do with swallowing; it's done by the muscles in your throat, which work the same however your body is positioned. The only way it may not work is if you're afraid of being upside down or otherwise tense; if that's the case, you might choke due to the tension.

It still goes down to your stomach, just like everything else. The only thing is that it may be hard for you to swallow, because of the pressure and gravity.

But no it's not going to your brain or anything. Your digestive track doesn't go to your brain.

You would swallow your food like normal - we tried this in class one day, had one of the guys standing on his head and eat something. The way your throat works is that it will continue to push the food along so it will make it to your stomach.

It all depends how strong your esophagus, diaphragm and stomach are - if you have a strong swallowing response, most likely the food or liquid will still make their usual way. However, I think it's more likely that the food could get stuck and block the airways to the lungs, or get stuck in your sinus cavity! Yuck.

even when you swallow sitting up right the muscles in your throat actully contract and draw the food down into your guts kind of like how you milk a cow so if u are up side down the muscles will draw it up into your gut

you actually swallow just fine upside down- peristalsis, the motion that moves food down your esophagus works even if you're upside down (it's a muscle action). and when you throw up, it's actually the reversal of peristalsis.

Your body will digest it just as if you were upright (this is why astronauts can swallow and digest food in zero gravity, as well).

You choke on it because most likely your throat isn't strong enough to push it to your stomach when you're hanging upside down.
