Satan asks you to think for yourself? Interesting...
I think for myself, but then again, I'm an atheist.

I don't remember anyone except the 'People of the Book' saying you have to believe in the kind of god they do, so feel free not to believe. However, just because you've decided not to believe in the Supernatural, doesn't necessarily mean that you have to give up on religious philosophy or spirituality altogether.
I know that most organized religions are, for the most part, a tool of the State and it supports the State, and the rich and powerful against the rest of the people, while concomitally preachifying that their religion stands for just the opposite!
For instance: Homeland Security (FEMA} is training cadres of xtian ministers in every city on how to calm their flocks when the government chooses to reveal its mailed fist and orders martial law, in the near future, because of civil unrest, rioting, and other bad behavior. Thes apparatchiks of the goverment will preachify against such things as ignoring civil authority's demands for the citizens to "cooperate" with forcible relocation to the 'barbed wire hotels they have set up for us, both here and around the world, because of new draconiian laws, or an overt abrogation of the U.S.Constiution (like Prexy Bush deciding that "We"don't need the Constitution, nor the 2008 elections, and tries to stay beyond his legal term of office), to further help the Rich and Powerful at the expense of the rest of us. These xtian stooges and secret police will basically claim that xtians must obey the dictates of the rulers because of some %$Æ#$ verse in Romans that says that xtians must obey them - even if they're the creatures of FEMA or tools of someone like the Roman Emperor Nero.
A small reminder -- in the US "We the People..." are the rulers, and the government is collectively our servant.
If you do have a personal god s/he is not your master these days;, it's more of a partnership. The gods and their messengers have certain trans-personal abilities that are useful to a Mage.
Wicca and Neo-Paganism are religions, but there is no universal creeds and dogmas - and few practitionaers will ask you about whether you actually believe in those that do exist, and, always remember, "DON'T GROVEL !"

Satan said the same thing- however one thing different between you and Satan, you have a chance to come to know Jesus and be forgiven. I will pray that you will one day. I do not look through the tainted lens of religion. I do not want religion. there is a total difference between religion and relationship.
RELIGION- man's attempt to reach God
RELATIONSHIP- God reaching down to man, through Christ.
All men are truly lost, it is just some men and women who do not want to admit it. If you think you can live godlessly and not regret it, wait until you meet your maker, because every one will. Yes, I think for myself - I thought enough about myself, to realize that I am a sinner, in desperate need of THE SAVIOR. When you come to that realization, you don't lose yourself, you gain understanding, and you gain the greatest thing of all- GOD

I don't see how God telling me to save my sexuality for marriage, not masturbate, not to look at pornography, not lie, not kill, not steal, put him, an infinite, all-powerful God, first before anything finite in this earth is enslavement. I think for myself and realize that I can live life without masturbating, sex before marriage and telling those hurtful or deceitful things.
I don't see how asking those simple, moral things of me makes me have a tainted lens. You can't honestly say that it's morally right to masturbate, sometimes more than once a day, or that it's morally right to look at pornography. You might say to me, "yeah, but it's not that bad". It's still not moral.
That's exactly why you don't want to follow God. You revel in what you love to do-sin. Sin is living godlessly because sin separates us from God. It's apparent that that is what has happened to you. You freely admitted it. You may like what you do; I'm not going to even scare you by saying that that is grounds for going to Hell (that's up to God, anyway). I hope you would at least consider that I know this from experience: whatever sin you are committing, it will ultimately leave you empty in the end.
God fills empty hearts. It seems that you don't want God, but also realize that true Christians don't follow God to be enslaved. Why would someone follow God to be enslaved? True Christians know that God is freedom, not enslavement. If putting my faith in Jesus Christ and repenting of my sins gets me to Heaven, then I think I can live without masturbation and sex before marriage. What about you?

True freedom comes from having a relationship with Christ Jesus. Before I was a christian I was blinded and enslaved to the god of this world, unable to think for myself, just follow the crowd that led into the ditch, wake up everyday to the same old thing no future hope just exist. So to say do I think for myself yep my friend because it is a conscious choice to follow Christ

Maybe so, but you will regret it some day. That is a fact. You are not clearly looking around you or you would not make such statements. You , not Christians, have a god that enslaves you. It is called sin. Selfish sin . Yes I do think for myself. I think I feel very sorry for you and hope you will repent and come to Christ.

Yes I do. I may adapt certain views from Christianity and Buddhism and Wicca, but I am my own person. It doesn't matter what a person believes it will eventually fall into a *category.* I don't claim my beliefs ar the only ones that are right, but I will definately stand up for people or animals that are being abused and tortured for an individual's pleasure.

My thoughts are 'thought' by me, but governed by Christ.
Who says you can't be 'happy' without Christ? Satan doesn't care if you have fun.. he just wants to keep you away from Christ.. which is very bad.. and in the long run.. going to ruin eternity for you.
God extends his grace to the undeserving so that we may experience True Joy through his love. Satan is good at sugar coating your life to make you feel 'content'; but I can promise you that Christ is so much more worth it.
I will pray for ya bud, I belive you posted this because you want a good answer, so you have an excuse to follow Christ. And I hope it works =)

I have been living for God and I have never regretted it.
Yes, I really do think for myself and I have struggled to avoid seeing the universe through the "tainted lens" of religion. The way I see it, religion is a product of man not of God. ...and yes, it is frequently tainted because so many people view the world (and God) through the tainted lens of their own perception.
...and perception isn't accurate, it is inherrently biased. One of the worst mistakes people make when they hear something is to distort it to fit their preconceived notion of the world. ...and a common misconception of God is that his plans and instructions are universal. I don't believe that...if God wanted us all to do the exact same things then we would all be exactly alike...and we aren't. We all have different skills and talents, we live in different environments, we have different hopes and fears and dreams. With the exception of a few "fundamentals", God's plan for each of us is unique just as his message for us is unique...it is tailored to our individual needs to help us fulfill his unique purpose for our lives ("need to know basis").
The God I serve has given me a lens to view the world that is not tainted by my own physical limitations...our eyes can lie to us, our brains can tell us that something is good for us when it is really bad for us, but God is all seeing and all knowing. Because God lives within me, I have the ability to use his untainted lens to view the world (not that I always do so, I just have the ability to use it). I have had many people tell me something about what God wants me to do or how God wants me to behave and I am enough of a "free thinker" to recognize that just because God said something to them does NOT mean that the same instructions apply to me!
Failure to think for yourself is tantamount to begging to be deceived. That is the tainted lens of religion that I try to avoid! I don't accept anything said to me by another human being without processing it through my own mind and examining it through the lens of my individual relationship with God.

I think for myself...I don't know what "God" has to do with anything...it's actually religion that taints your thinking, not God. Remember that saying Jesus save me from your followers?
