I am.. utterly SHOCKED at the ignorance the above answerer has shown. The one who says Wicca is only passed from person to person? Utterly... astounded. I cannot even begin to explain why I believe she could not be more wrong. First of all, teachers are not always at hand, so yes, MOST Wiccans, honey, are self taught. It's been that way for all of what? 60 years? I choose to learn the roots, by the way: the very foundation on which Wicca was created. Don't act like it's some huge secret club. It ain't. My God does that not offend ANY one else? I'm not meaning to be rude but that is insulting to HALF the Wiccan practice-rs . Secondly, you, the asker, are correct, Witchcraft is different from Wicca. Craft versus religion, yes. Neither are wrong and you seem to have a grasp on what it means for you. I, personally, am an eclectic pagan. I do spell work, work with herbs, candles, gems, stones, healing, and divination. I am very fond of the Wiccan teachings and do with all my heart believe in the Lord and Lady, God and Goddess, and that they are within every living thing. I believe to call oneself a Witch you need only feel it and learn as much as possible. Avoid being a fluffy =D. And above all, stay faithful to what you believe it. Your friend, however, is not.. a "bad" Witch, with a lack of knowledge. She may very well just need teaching and to read up, meditate, pray, or something. However, it DOES need to be more than a weekend hobby. I'm sorry you are so frustrated. Try to help and understand that life can be a hard ride and a LOT of people lose the time to focus on faith. She may have it, just not able to practice it. be there for her. Just my opinion. EDIT: I am not saying, Kristin (Kirsten? I Forget how it's spelled once I get to the edit page, sorry!), that your tradition is wrong or that your studies or practices are invalid, because no Wiccan, no person of ANY religion or faith is WRONG, because that is not for people to decide. What I am SAYING is that every Wiccan who has Strong faith and study IS valid. My sister doesn't have access to covens, to a teacher. So her year and a day is more like... forever. We never stop learning. I understand when you are not in a coven you Do miss out on the group aspect, the learning together thing. But HOW can you say Wiccans who are not initiated are not true/real/valid/actual whatever Wiccans? I REALLY have never met a person OR a Wiccan who believes this. THAT'S why I was simply stunned, that the rest of the world who CAN'T be in a coven for whatever reason just isn't as real a Wiccan as you, being a "HighPriestesss". And honestly, it goes beyond you and your opinion, I should have remembered. This is about the God and Goddess. Beyond humans and their opinions. My sister is whatever the HELL she wants to be? Because of who she prays to. And THAT is what makes her, and everyone else a Wiccan if they so choose to follow this path. This goes for every religion. It's about God. And he/she/they KNOW us better than other people. sorry for offending you, by the way. EDIT2- Maiingan. Ack you're right. I keep reading the edits on this one and it's just frustrating. So I just have to let it go and remember I don't have to run into these people often. So. Our skill levels, faith, and practices can't be judged my other people, and we should not care what they say. Let this also be a good example for the ASKER we seem to have forgotten about. Hi there. We remembered about you. =D

I prefer to call my dwelling an apartment. For all the christians trying to say we will end up in hell, that is your belief not ours. Witches do not believe in hell as you see it, hell is here on earth in a form called the evil of man so get over yourself. One day I hope to get my own *gasp* house! Gee we are not so different after all!

Nothing special, I'm a Witch, my home is a nice house, pained blue and white, with roses and lavender and rosemary in the garden, and nice husband and son and dog, two TVs, a washer and dryer...

see where I'm getting? We don't really have any special names for our houses, unless they went and gave houses a name and didn't notify me!!! Witches?

just kidding, it's all just home, just like yours.

bright blessings,
Lady Morgana

They are called houses, or possibly, apartments. Some might call them condos. But, I'm sure most witches simply call them home.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and hazard a guess.

Houses.

Or homes, condos, flats, apartments.

Something along those lines.

What do you call the dwellings that Christians live in?

Duplexes, Condo's or Houses. I think it's against the three fold law to rent an apartment.

MoOOOo!
