About 8 months ago my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. She had chemo and faught off 100% of it. But now when I am having a conversation with her she starts a sentence and forgets what she was going to say. Is this a sign of the cancer returning? She is also on a lot of drugs including pain killers could this maybe be a side effect of extended use? (All the prescribtions are cancer related and she has only been on them for 6 months.)

Chemo brain.
That is a serious condition.
Goggle 'chemo brain' or 'chemo fog'.
Best wishes

You don't mention your Grandmother's age, which could be a contributing factor.

Alzheimer's can be aggravated and accelerated by ill health and stress, so that is one possibility.

Tiredness and lack of concentration can be a side effect of many medications, which is why so many have a warning "do not operate machinery if affected".

Then again, she could just be suffering "chemo brain"! Try typing the term into any search engine or check the link below. Two years after chemo, mine is still there sometimes.

She has gone through a stressful time. I think the pain meds can make it hard for her to concentrate so she doesn't remember what she was saying. It is still early in her road to recovery and only time can tell if she is out of the woods.
