You can use it to make pie dough; chop meat; puree some of the veggies from your soup to use as a thickener rather than flour; make quick "re-fried" beans from a can of cooked pintos and a bit of oil, onion and garlic; guacamole; mayonnaise; smooth lumpy gravy; puree meats or veggies for cream-of-???? soup; scramble fresh eggs for quiche; make graham cracker or vanilla wafer pie crusts; puree fresh fruits/berries for making fruit/berry syrups; cream cheese that has been frozen is grainy when it is thawed - puree it with a bit of milk or cream and it's smooth again. You just have to remember when you're prepping for a meal that it is there and think - could I do this better with the food processor.

I use mine for making cookies if I want to add some ground up oats to the flour to make the cookies heartier. I also have a recipe for a walnut pastry where I have to grind the walnuts into the texture of sand. And, the food processor works great. You can also use it to make your own salad dressings or mayonnaise with a process known as emulsification. This is where you have something like a vinegar base and drizzle the oil into the food processor while it's running until you get the creamy texture you're trying for.

I love mine for making pesto's - basil and arugula are my favorites. I also use it to make pate', gazpacho, chopping nuts...all kinds of things! I have to have it when I make my zucchini bread - it's a lifesaver shredding all that zucchini! lol!
Here's my arugula pesto recipe...
4 cups packed fresh arugula
1 tablespoon minced garlic
Salt and freshly ground pepper
1 cup pure olive oil
2 tablespoon pine nuts, toasted, plus 1 tablespoon
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
Prepare an ice water bath in a large bowl, and bring a large pot of water to a boil. Put the arugula in a large sieve and plunge it into the boiling water. Immediately immerse all the arugula and stir so that it blanches evenly. Blanch for about 15 seconds. Remove, shake off the excess water, then plunge the arugula into the ice water bath and stir again so it cools as fast as possible. Drain well.
Squeeze the water out of the arugula with your hands until very dry. Roughly chop the arugula and put in a food processor. Add the garlic, salt and pepper to taste, olive oil, 2 tablespoons of the pine nuts, and the vitamin C, if using. Blend for at least 30 seconds. In this way the green of the arugula will thoroughly color the oil. Add the cheese and pulse to combine. The pesto will keep several days in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator.
Pull out before dinner to get to room temperature. Before serving, add the remaining 1 tablespoon toasted pinenuts.

I make salsa with mine:
One large can whole tomatoes
one bunch cilantro
1 medium onion; quartered
1 or 2 fresh jalapenos, seeds and membranes removed (can leave some in if you want more heat)
salt to taste.
Add to processor and give it a whirl. Keep in fridge, eat with good tortilla chips; great on eggs.
I also use mine for shredding large amounts of cheese. Mainly for chopping when I have a lot to do.

I use my blender(I could use a food processor) to make fresh salsa.
A couple of quarterd meaty tomatoes with removed seeds
a hot pepper of some variety, sans seeds again
a teaspoon or so olive oil
some basil/parsly
Blend and then add
part of a bell pepper and part of an onion chopped fine
It tastes so very fresh and non-acidic compared to store bought salsas.

I got one for a gift years ago, and took it back, then bought one last January 'cause I really wanted one then. Mine sits there a lot, but every once in a while I remember to use it. It works great to make chicken salad, chop cooked chicken & onions with the blade, then use the slicer to cut up the celery.
I also use mine to mix up my Sand Tart cookie dough, it's sooo quick! It also worked great to chop up all the ingredients for meatballs or meatloaf.

I use mine to make deviled eggs. I put all in ingredients in the food processor then it gets smooth enough I can put it in a piper.. Pipping the mixture into the egg makes it look so much prettier. I use mine to shreed any and all things all the time!!!

I use it to make a quick marinade for hamburger meat, chicken or steak:
cilantro, fresh red pepper, salt to taste, lots of garlic, onion or shallots, veggie oil or olive oil, vinegar and lime juice. You could put aji dulce and recao but its hard to find around here. I guess you could call my mix a recaito or sofrito. some people prefer to call it sofrito once its mixed with salsa de tomate.
