You may need to see a doctor. I resisted getting meds, but I should have done it sooner. I don't take them every night. Only when I really need them.

I have a friend that has sleep & anxiety disorder. This person has been on the same medication that one of our celebrities was on,which contritubed to death. My friend at times is in a stupor, out driving a vehicle & so far from the true person she is. I've begged them to get off this medication-along with another addictive medication which both are prescribed by a physican.
I've begged them to stop 2 of these meds and start taking melatonin. Melatonin has been on Dateline & the morning shows as the herb to help you sleep, safe and non addictive. It cost $2-$5.00 per bottle & bought over the counter. When we lose sleep it affects how we function, our mood & weight, and our personality. Melatonin works by turning off our biological clock that shuts us down to a natural sleepy/drowsey state.
Had I not discovered this a few years ago, no doubt I'd be spending $100's a month for something additive, costly and changing my personality to who I am not.
You can also go to your state's website and in the search space type in clinical trials (no cost to you) and see if they have a trial for sleep disorders.
When I loose alot of sleep I began to think I'm nut's, when in fact all I need is my battery recharged the natural way.
Good Luck & Best Wishes to get safe help for yourself

The insomnia sounds like it's caused by the anxiety. I might be wrong. Maybe you should talk with a qualified doctor about it and get some help. When the anxiety begins to interfere with my life, I go back to the psychiatrist and go back on medication. There is no shame in it. Good luck.

Sounds like you might have sleep apnea. Folks with sleep apnea can't get good REM sleep because their throat collapses at night, causing them to wake up throughout the night. It causes snoring but also messes with your metabolism and personality.
Talk to your doc about it. Its an easy test, and a hospital stay, but worth it.

I take sleeping pills. They can help calm the anxiety, so I can at least try to sleep.
