What is the difference between a regular breast and a dense one?

I was told I had a dense breast when examind by a DR.

As we age our breast tissue becomes less dense.

This is why mammograms are less usefull in women under 40 years of age, the tissue is too dense for many tumours to show up.

If you are under 40 this is normal. If you are over 40, then you have nice firm breasts of a younger woman.
