While in uniform, personnel will not place their hands in their pockets, except momentarily to place or retrieve objects.

Yes; it's part of your uniform wear and appearance regulations. No hands in your pockets; no bulky items in your pockets, nothing visible hanging out of your pockets, no strings on your uniform, etc.

I don't know if you could call a sergeant screaming in your face a
regulation.": but the only time a soldier has his hands in his pocket it to get something out of them.

yea there is. You cant have them in your pocket just to rest. You can go in them to get stuff out but they are not to sit in there. Trust me I have had that problem a couple of times, but no longer do.

in the "NAVY" if you are standing in a casual group conversating, you are allowed to have your hands in your pockets, but when walking you can not.
Like i said NAVY not ARMY, i am not sure there.

well im in NJROTC and thats the navy and my GYST always gets on to us for putting our hands in our pockets i think its like an unwritten rule wehn you are in uniform and it s like the same with chewing gum
