Let me ask you a question in return - would you rather not live forever? If you weren't living forever what would become of you, well, i suppose, there really wouldn't be a you. You can't escape living forever it is merely part of life (so to speak). See a lot of your anxiety about living forever may come from the fact you only know your earthly life, you won't live forever in a sense that you live your earthly life forever, you'll have a complete different life and view really - you'll be completely changed, there won't be trails or hardship, but it won't just be boring monotonous nothingness either, there will be plenty to do and see and experience in heaven, there is no way you can possibly take it all in even in a thousand lifetimes - or eternity really. The fact is, your viewpoint is limited because you are still on earth. what i mean to say is, you can only see what you know, and you can never experience eternity because it doesn't exist on Earth. it is something that you will experience anew. I hope this helps and wasn't too confusing.

Really! I never heard of that.

But when I think about all that I've read about Heaven, I just cannot be that way. Just think a lack of everything bad. We are not even threatened by a return to sin, since incorruptibility is added to what humans are. So no threats, no disapproving God (since He has nothing against us and we are not capable of angering Him) , no sickness, disease, etc.

Does that sound like something bad to you?

And then there is the city where we are to live in, New Jerusalem on New Earth. A city 1400 x 1400 x 1400 miles in dimension. In the walls of that city are gates; twelve gates. One thing the Bible doesn't seem to mention is what's outside the gates. It only mentions what the gates look like, and that the gates are never closed. What's on the other side of the gates. I really don't think that we can imagine!

I would consider your current feeling about that new life ahead of those who love God is based on your unwillingness to let go of the things that you are used to. People tend to resist change. It's human nature. But consider what I told you about. Doesn't it sound awesome, like a reality ahead that is completely surreal? Some find it all very hard to believe, but if I can believe in the resurrection, I have no problem believing in this. As unlike life is now, it's a whole lot better than missing it.

What excites me about Heaven is that it will be way more wonderous than this Earth we now live on. The Earth has been suffering under the curse of sin for thousands of years. A lot has been lost in that time that will be restored to us in heaven. Also, God didn't give His whole box of goodies to physical man, we have to wait for it.
The light spectrum is very large but we can only see a small part of it now, I believe in heaven we will see colors that are unknown to us now. Likewise, we will hear, smell, taste and feel things we cannot imagine now. When some people have a near death experience they report seeing colors that don't exist here for us.
The apostle Paul was shown a glimpse of Heaven and he wanted to leave this Earth so bad to go there, it must have been quite wonderous if he couldn't wait to die to get there.
Don't think that Heaven will be a never ending version of what we see and experience here, it is nothing like this. Check out the book The Evidence for Heaven by Balsiger and Sellier, it gives a glimpse of what awaits us.

Just know this...the only thing that you are afraid of is the unknown!! You're not the only one who questions it, and how it will be in heaven... It shouldn't creep you out though! Knowing that you will be with The Lord Jesus Christ sitting at the right hand of God is an awesome thing!! I have tried to imagine what heaven will be like, and I know that I personally can't wait to get there! Look at the world around you...there's so much wrong with the world today....fighting, killing, dying, drugs & addictions, pollution, etc....the list goes on!! In heaven, there is NONE of that....only PERFECTION!!! A new body, a new life, a WONDEROUS PLACE to call home!! Don't be CREEPED OUT!!! You should be more CREEPED OUT about living here on earth with everything that is going on in THIS world!!

You have to try and disassociate the life you live now in a frail body in a fallen world with the life to come in an eternal body that never gets sick or tired or old in the presence of God where there is fullness of joy and at whose right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalms 16:8 I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure. 10 For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. 11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

1 Corinthians 15:50 I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. 51 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.

Revelation 21:1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

5 And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." 6 And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

You can be absolutely sure that it will be greater than you can imagine and there will not even be a possibility of being tired of it.
In this life we are in the bonds of sin. Our life is entirely affected by it. Our world is broken, fallen and that creates things like disagreement, sickness, aging... there is none of that with God in heaven. There is only pure glory and none of the bonds of sin, we will barely be able to remember the pain and problems of this life and will not want to. Your heart will be lifted like you cannot imagine and will remain lifted.
A few years ago I had maybe a few moments when I felt none of the bonds of sin - that we have in this life. It was amazing... nothing bad and just complete glorified spiritual life. God can do that.. rust in it --- also read all you can in the Bible about heaven, and believe as you do the other things you have learned.
It is a different place, not like this. There is nothing to be afraid of.

Blessings.

You are young. You are thinking as a man thinks, in a worldly way. Get into a full gospel church, and read your Bible. Learn and grow in the Lord. Only by doing this will you find peace. It will be different, yes, and sometimes a different existence is scary, because we do not know what to expect. Study the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John a lot. Learn about Jesus, and the things He said and did.

Lastly, and maybe this will help you - your soul is eternal. You will spend eternity somewhere, either in Paradise, or in hell. Make it in Paradise. It'll be a lot nicer, and you will be with Jesus, who loved you so much, that He laid His life down, and hung on the cross, so that you could live! THAT is love!

It's an awesome thing to fathom, isn't it? But, Jesus promised us eternal life with Him. I am so waiting for that! Are you sure it isn't just death that scares you more than living eternally? Please read the word, and it will comfort you. Read in Psalms. It always seems to comfort me. Try to focus on what God wants you to do for Him now, while you are alive on this earth. You have work to do, you know. God Bless
