ok my husband thinks he has a hemmorhoid....its so painful and its a pea size bump. he has used preperation h with no relief...my question is how long do they last? and is this what im thinking it is?

I don't know if it is a hemmorhoid, but I do know that they don't go away on their own. You can control the symptoms, with Prep H, or hydrocortisone, or whatever, so it doesn't bother you, but surgery is the only way to make it go away completely. I would go to the doc to see what it is.

Well if you are thinking that it is some kind of V.D. I would advise that you go to the Doctor before you all become the pea size family...LOL...If it turns out to be hemorrhoids then here is what you need to do...First let me tell you that I believe very much in herbal remedies, not the kind you smoke either. If the medication that your husband has been using has not worked then tell him to use Vick's! Yes Vick's. All he has to do is er...apply it to the pea size bump and I bet you will have no more problems. Good Luck ...

does it hurt when he has a bm? is it inside or outside? it helps to sit in a warm bath as much as possible, it will shrink it. also keep lots of fiber in his diet so he isn't straining for a bm, that creates hemmorhoids and makes existing ones worse.

i know this sounds gross but, have you seen it? does it appear to just be a hemmorhoid? could it be an abcess?if he isn't getting any relief from otc stuff, he should see the doc.
