It's best to get bird flu as soon as possible; with medical attention there is a 50/50 chance of survival.

But when the pandemic hits, they'll probably just throw you into the pile of corpses just before they light it up.

No they won't. Some feather brain is confusing the use of decoys like are used in duck hunting with decorative things like fake flamingos. The only birds they might possibly attract are flamingos. Do you see robins and crows attracted to duck hunter's decoys? No, you don't. The only birds those decoys will attract are ducks that look just like them - you can't even decoy mallards with teals, even though both are varieties of duck. Fake flamingos don't even attract real flamingos. And flamingos don't carry bird flu.
Lastly, the bird flu is at present confined to areas far from our country - much too far for the birds that carry it to fly.

someone obviously has something against pink flamingo's.
and i'm not sure on this but i think you'd actually have to eat these said birds to be in danger.
