When I say I am a Christian I don't speak of this with pride.I am confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say i am a Christian I am not trying to be strong I am professing that I am weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say I am a Christian I am not bragging of success I am admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

Very well put sister. The truth is exactly as you have so poetically proclaimed . When we as Christians try and win someone to Christ or plant a seed for the Lord to grow, we are not saying that we are any different as far as our sin goes. The difference is we know that our redeemer lives. Thank you Jesus!!!

It is great! Good Poem!
Being a Christian is not something to take lightly and use to just "erase" every sin that you do and/or feel like you are holier and mightier than thou. Christians have accepted God's Free Gift of Salvation and therefore, we have such a high calling and should express our beliefs and tell others of what they can experience! :)
God Bless!

Gifted is the writer who can put such emotion and truth in words that even a grade schooler can understand.....

Of all the things I have read here today, this is the most refreshing. Thanks for sharing.

it is very good. but i think that God should be the only one and only thing called awesome bc awesome is a word the means it leaves you in awe and wonder.. and when we use it everday or just for anything whe you use it for God it makes him like down there with other stuff it lowers the word when he is the highest of the highest.. so i say he should be called awesome and only him!! *STAR*

It's not exactly the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, but I am sure it was heartfelt; Although being heartfelt doesn't make it good.

You need to find the full piece.
That poem is by Maya Angelou, a noted black rights actvists and lesbian feminist.

What you say and how you treat others are not necessarily the same.

"uncle merle", I am just blown away by your creativity. I wonder how long it took you to do that?
