Ok, for the past 3 months I have had this redish splotchy rash on the back of my neck by my hairline think extends up into my scalp. It itches SOOO bad and sometimes has a little bit of pain to it. I have tried everything to see if a product i use irritates it (i tried all different products for a week at time to see if it made a difference). I have also tried normal aloe lotion and steroid Rx lotion on it without seeing any change. Lately it has been itching even more and I am even having a hard time sleeping. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what it is, or what I can try on it. thanks!

if it's flat with no dry patches or peeling, i would think it was contact dermatitis, hives or a heat rash.otherwise, maybe, excema. it may not be due to hair products either. check your laundry soap or jewelry items. some metals will cause a rash.

It might not be a product you're using, it could be not washing or taking care of your hair naturally or it could be the necking of a certain clothing you're wearing. Don't try using anything that you just buy from any store. Go to the health food store and talk to them they might have an herbal product. Or just try using some mixture you made yourself. Try placing different slices of vegetables on the area, might soak up moisture and dry it up so it's not tender.

I know sometimes the metal in necklaces can cause rashes, because it used to happen to me when I wore them when I was younger. But if you don't wear metal necklaces, you may just need to go to a doctor to have them check it out.
