is it because though we may feel good when we are in church and then leave church, SATAN will continue to tempt throughout the rest of the day & the week? Is it like positive re-enforcement to keep our spiritual maintenance up?

I think that is correct.
I think it is also more a daily practice to keep your mind mentally strong and sharp on the Lord. To keep focus on the ultimate goal and keep a broader perspective than just those tedious things of this world. The more important things! The bigger picture.
