Thanks for your answers. Can you suggest a good university in Chicago that offers online programs? I'm interested in taking Masters in Business Administration/Marketing. Thanks!

I'm currently enrolled in UOP for my MBA. I put in approx 15 hours a week of homework. The classes are only 6 weeks long, but the amount of information thrown at you in each class is crazy. Definitely fast paced and high volume.

There is a variety of schools that would fit your bill. I am leary about the entire online learning experience.

Check out the USNEWS and world report - top business MBA schools. That would give you a good starting point.

I would not recommend the University of Phoenix. To put it simple, they are a for-profit school interested in making money. They have had problems with obtaining certification and with getting financial aids in states. There are other unproven problems like grade-inflation, fast degrees, financial aids.

With school choices, you go with the school that you feel comfortable with and they are willing to work with you.

Yes, but I would not recommend U of Phoenix.
I would recommend that you obtain your degree from an existing university with a good reputation that offers online classes or online degrees. This way you get the respect of a degree from a good university, with the convenience of online classes.

No one that I know of in academe would ever recommend a program like the University of Phoenix offers. Any serious MBA student knows the value of accreditation and core subject matter. The program has no value add other than to be able to say "I have an MBA)

Yes absolutely. Graduate school will always be time consuming but it will be much better doing it online.

You can find a large list of online universities at:

Absolutely. Our niece in Philadelphia earned her doctorate in Audiology. She felt that the quality of the program was excellent. And it didn't interfere with her job, her work schedule. Not to say it didn't interfere some with other aspects of her life, however!
