Check with "Sarge" above you here. I know a guy that works the boats long lining and shrimping and the pay is no where near what you taking about.
The unemployment line would wind up to Kentucky. You have to know someone to get on them boats or, be a relative.
Like the man said, you don't go from flipping hamburgers at McDonald's one day to shrimping the next.

Go down to the docks and ask if they need a deckhand(entry level) to get some education on what you may be doing.
Just working on a shrimp boat you dont make that kind of money!It would be a percentage pay!
I would think it is all the same from Ga to Fl where I worked!
