You could get alot of answers for this but here I go. Plasma TV's are heavier but has higher technology such as really high contrast ratios. Bad part is you can use it as a mirror, the darn things reflect everything including light. LCD's typically have an anti-glare coating on the screen but it softens the image so it's not as sharp as a Plasma. It still has a great picture though and it's lighter. Contrast ratios are good but not as good as a Plasma. If you are video gaming or find yourself falling asleep while watching a DVD you might want a LCD due to burn-in imaging that can happen on a Plasma. If you are just watching TV or don't fall asleep watching movies then Plasma's are the way to go. Just watch where you place them with your windows.
