the gp1u is tuned for games with the "viper drive"
it also has a DVI-I input for digital video from a computer and an extra HDMI input.

The other has everything else including 6ms response.

if it is gaming u want go with the gp1u

I wouldnt buy a sharp just from my experience with tech support for the techs alone. Plus dont much care for there product all together. $1200. frys had a 50" panasonic plasma for $1199. last weekend. Much better deal and panasonics warranty service on there plasmas is unbeatable. They over night parts to the repair center as well as give service with in 48 hours of call. As well as provide a 42" plasma loaner if for some reason you have excessive service on a unit.

go to this website, it's where I bought mine, you won't find a better price warranty or customer service
