No. In polite society, they would apologize, and you would accept it. It is considered to be an accident. However, in "gangbanger country" you have been "dissed", and then you lay a cap on the dude.

Given that the person stepped on my shoes by accident, I wouldn't do anything..........except say "ouch" (hoping she/he will say "sorry")
