No. You have to apply while you are here on a legal visa or in the home country filling out paperwork that would let you come here legally. That is it. At this point in time illegals that have been here that long are not going to get any favors. Immigration has enough problems with the general public not being happy about what they do.....

Technically yes, but most employer based visas are turned town and the gov't looks down and any amount of illegal status time, especially such a long time. The other catch is that not all professions qualify for employer sponsorship. He/she will need to show that he/she's indispensable to the employer; in most cases he/she will need a college degree or higher.

Nope, only if they return to their country and then become sponsored before they get caught here illegally.
Why didn't the person just renew their visa? Not a legit job? getting paid under the table? Not legit residential address? Whatever the excuse, they could have just kept renewing their visa and kept applying for a green card. But no, they don't want to pay the fees or get legitimate jobs.

IT would be illegal for the employer to sponsor someone breaking our immigration laws. The employer would be subject to fines.

Everything depends on how he/she got here. If he/she entered the country LEGALLY, and then overstayed her/his legal time, it's possible to adjust status and stay provided a visa of some sort is available to her/him.
If he/she arrived ILLEGALLY (uninspected) then the answer is no. A person who came here in this manner must leave the country before any visa application will be entertained by CIS.

I think he should be sponsored by giving him a bus ticket to the border and kicking his ******* *** back over. Toss a packet after him with a pen and all the appropriate paperwork to come back legally.
