It would be easier for me to answer this if I knew your daughters hair color but i'll give it my best shot.
I work at toniand guy im a color consultant and the technique we usually do is bleach then apply color, honestly for best color results its the way to go.
but if youre not up for self bleaching what you can do is.
Take her hair thats already dry and blow dry it to get extra heat on her skull, then apply the dye over her hair.
If youre doing all over color DONT USE TIN FOIL if theyre just streaks then it is ok.
Once you have finished applying all the dye, but a bag or whatever your going to use on her head and let it set in for about 10min. then with the bag on blowdry her hair again, this will create all over heat inside the bag and will give her a brighter color that will also last longer.
I hope this helps you, but in case that her hair is very dark anything from a brown and on she will need to bleah her hair atleast to the 5th stage[orange color] or else manic panic dye will not give her any color at all.
thank you :]

First you need to lighten her hair. The lighter the better. It's like trying to color on a piece of paper. The color will show up better on a white piece as opposed to a brown piece.
Also, heat will help a great deal. Use a blowdryer when it's sitting on her hair. The color will highly intensify. If you don't get the desired results the first time dye it again. I used all these methods when I did my brother's hair turquious. Here's a link to see how his turned out:

Hope I've helped and good luck

If her hair's naturally light, you can put it right on there and it should take. If not, I'd bleach it first.
I will say that when I used Manic Panic's Vampire Red on top of my naturally brown-black hair, it gave me gorgeous highlights. It won't appear the same way it does on the swatch, though.

I have magenta hair,I am a Hairstylist.I use Clairol's High-Color for dark hair.It last longer than manic panic and you do not have to pre-lighten(bleach) the hair so it is alot less damaging. It is a perm ant color. But doe's fade over time.My hair is short and I color ir about every three weeks to keep my color vibe rent.

ok well manic panic will fade greatly. if you go to sallys their is a pink kit you can buy. it bleaches it & then turns it pink all in one step. iw ould go get that kit & then if its not bright enough put the manic panic over top of it. cuz u do have to bleach it out first but this will save u time mess n money if u just go purchase that kit. it usually is in the color aisle under the manic panic colors.

You really have to bleach it first or else you won't achieve the desired color. Also, use foil and cotton to absorb the bleach at the roots so it wont dye other parts of your hair. Also, applying heat after the color has been apllied will help absord the bleach or colour more.Good Luck! BTW, how old is your daughter? Is she old enough to apply bleach to her scalp and hair?

wow, ive done this so many times.
the lighter the color is, the better her hair will absorb it, & heat does make it brighter.
if its all of her hair, foil probably wont help much, but if it's chunks, highlights, bangs, or something along those lines, foil would help.
& dont worry about getting the color too close to her scalp, thats always a mistake.
