I would like to hear from anyone that has had help solving any problems from here on Y/A. Spiritual, religious, or otherwise.
Does this forum really work, or what? Specific examples are what I'd like...and I don't care how long the answer is!

Yes, there are some good people in Y/A. I think some answerers have the ability to sense when someone has a serious problem.
I had good answers just recently when I asked for help with a friend who's dealing with an alcoholic husband wanting visitation with their young son. Check out my page.
Mostly this site works when you can't ask friends or family. It seems easier to put a problem in writing & get results from perfect strangers. I've found that many answers are what I'm thinking but I need to see it in black & white.
I stay away from politics now as there are some pretty vicious answerers out there who haven't done their homework. I never bother with any of the racists or perverts. Some questions have to be fabricated. (Somebody wants attention!)
It's always interesting to see what your contacts have been asking/answering. You, for example, are intriguing.

It depends on what category you are looking for advice on. If you have a math question, for example, you stand a pretty good chance of getting a correct answer if the question is not beyond first year calculus. But in the R&S section, the mockers vastly outnumber those who give good advice.
