Two things. One: how can i keep my head down while swinging? This is a major problem. And 2: Why does my ball go flying to the right all the time? I hit it, and it flies to the right. Any tips or advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

as you know golf takes practice
a little exercise I do to keep my head down is take like a 7 iron and practice punching balls as I watch them leave the ground
This is what you want to do when you full swing at a ball Is watch it disappear off of the ground before you look to see where its going.
most of the time a slice is caused by rushing the swing
slow the rhythm of your swing as you watch the ball leave the ground
rushing the swing causes your hands to get ahead of the club head. when this happens the club will strike the ball in an open face mode.
take a driver or 3 wood look at the rub marks on the bottom
do the rub lines appear to go out at an angle toward the club head end?
now place the club so that these marks are parallel to your swing path
the club face will point outward in an open position
this is position of clubhead when it strikes the ball making it go right
to fix slow down you swing speed so the club head is as even to your hands as possible the ball will still go a little right but not as bad

Well, the reason you are going to the right is more than likely you have a weak grip on your club. NOTE: This does NOT mean what you think it means. When you first grip your club...I will assume you are a righty, lay the club diagonally across the fingers of your left hand. The club should be gripped in the fingers not the palm. Now, without moving your fingers from the bottom of the shaft, grip the club your left hand. You thumb will rest slightly right of the center of the club. Then bring your other hand. I recommend locking your fingers but that is entirely up to you.

Also, when you take practice swings, take note of your divot. Is your divot diagonal from left to right....meaning the divot is coming closer to you. If so, you are not allowing your club to come through the ball.

Now, for keeping your head down, focus on the ball. The reason you look up is to watch the ball. Focus on the ball through your entire swing...go to a driving range and practice brushing the mats with your club...not hitting them so it disrupts your swing, but just so you can hear the club brush over the mat. Then, hit a ball after you hit the mat.

Wow same thing happens to me, okay so your grip may be too weak and you have to streghten it so when your hands make contact with the ball the club face isnt open. So rotate your left hand under the right more and the right over the left more. you may also take the club too far back in your swing many things can be wrong. I'd sugguest video taping yourself swinging or getting a golf professional to help you

One: Try to read the brand or the letters written on your golf ball when you hit it, and your head will automatically be down.
Two: Hell I don't know. You've got to get a pro. No one can pretend to cure your slide on the internet. Come to the driving range with me and I'll fix your swing.

You might be standing too close to the ball and "shanking" it. As far as keeping your head down, just think about keeping your eye on the back of the ball until well after impact.
