Probably fossil fuels: Coal, Oil, Gas, in that order.
Biggest use of coal in North America is power generation.
There are scrubbing techniques, which cost more,
but by-products can be sold for profit, we need the will.
Biggest use of oil is probably in cars for transportation.
Gasoline & diesel engines can be made more efficient.
Or cars can be converted to run on alternative fuels.
Natural gas is the cleanest, & we have a 400 year supply.
Besides all that is methane from cow flatulance.
Not much we can do about that.

It starts with chainsaws
Deforestation to make room for the production of Ethanol
The plantations that replace the indigenous forests ,killing all the fauna in the process, need twice as much water as anything else ,depleting subterranean water supplies.
The fertilizers needed ,destroy and contaminate the original soils ,
The herbicides and Pesticides to control the plagues that will be rampant in an unbalanced Environment contaminate ,the air and the waters .
And the whole process produces more carbon than all of the industrial pollution and the motor cars in the whole world put together,
All in the name of conservation

Coal fired power plants by far produce more pollution than any other source.
Coal is contaminated with radioactive Uranium and Thorium.
When coal is burned the Uranium and Thorium is concentrated in the ash.
The concentration of Uranium is often so high in the ash that the ash itself is considered an ore source for Uranium for nuclear fuel and weapons.
The coal ash is left in huge piles on the ground to contaminate the environment..
Coal fired power plants actually produce much more radioactive nuclear waste than nuclear power plants.

Apparently India and China have a brown haze over their countries that can be seen from satellites. It is from burning cow dung for cooking and heating. it is acting like a giant reflector for heat trapping. It may be the biggest cause of GW.
As well as jet engines burning kerosene above 30,000 ft. Jet engines burn 2000 -5000 lbs of jet fuel per hour per engine. There are thousands of hours of jet traffic each day over the earth. Each ton of fuel produces 3.66 tons of CO2 and 1.56 tons of water. And there is nothing in the upper atmosphere to degrade it.

Packing & packaging materials. Everything comes in a box or a bag that needs to be disposed of or recycled after the product is removed & consumed. PEOPLE seem to be our biggest problem, because most of them won't even sort out their trash into the proper containers when their City or County provides them! Too many electronic items go into dumpsters & people hide their used engine oil in milk cartons that they then conceal in the dumpsters & trash cans!
