I have been Wiccan for 12 1/2 years and still do not have a patron God or Goddess. I just do not feel that special 'connection' with a specific deity, and I feel strange calling on the same one all the time. I do call on certain ones for certain things from time to time but, mostly I stick with Glorious Goddess, Gracious God. I guess what I'm wondering is.... does this make me a little bit fluffy? Please be nice.

Hmmmm Boar, you could be a little fluffy..... ;)
I by no means have been Pagan for a long time, but I can say I have never sworn any sort of oath or bond to any one or two Gods. I just haven't felt the need. Honor? Sure. Been guided by? Of course! But never promised or bonded. When that day comes, I'm sure I'll know. The Pagan religion is open enough to know when the universe and the gods are beating us upside the head...even when we just aren't paying attention. *wince
Any how I know lots of people that don't have a patron God/ess and they are just fine. Gotta roll with what comes to you.

Oh, but *Whillow!* All the KEWL kids have a Patron!

;-P

Remind me some time to treat everyone to my rant about the term "patron," btw. And consider that maybe you're simply a pantheist at heart. Nothing wrong with that.

I don't have a "Patron" either, as a heathen, though I'm unequivocally a Freyrsman. I have a fulltrui, and an ancestral pantheon instead . . . and I'm pretty sure nobody's calling me "fluffy" over in the peanut gallery! :-)

Whillow, I practiced for more than 20 years, just worshipping the Lord and the Lady as Generic names for them. It doesn't mean that you're a Fluffy Bunny at all. It ONLY means that you haven't done a "God/ess" nameing meditation". It's just like any other meditation that you'de do to comunicate with Deity, just THAT is your focus for that meditation. You don't have to do that, you know. If what YOU call them works for you and YOU feel comfy with that, then by all means, continue to do so. That's the NICE thing about the Craft, there IS no one right and true way. Whatever WORKS is the right thing to do.

Dear Whillow,

I don't have one either but I'm not Wiccan, just a Witch. Just my path...

I liked Raji's advice. Meditate on it, wait for it. The Lady who will come to you will be there when the time is right, and the magic cannot be made to happen. In the meantime, there is no wrong way.

I feel that the Goddess who will come to you will be beautiful, and the experience will be unmistakable for you.

Bright Blessings to you and your lads!

It's quite all right. I have a patron Goddess myself, but I see no issue with just appealing to the glorious God and Goddess themselves.

No, it doesn't make you fluffy. :P

does it work for you?

if you answer yes. then it is no body's business.

yes i have a patron god, and a goddess. they are

Cernunnous and Nemitonia.

however my circle is open to the entire Celtic pantheon. the Tuath De Dannon, the Dagda. all of them.

that is just me and how i worship. You must be comfortable with your own ways.

what is the matter with being a bit fluffy anyway. the last thing that Pagans need are derogatory terms for each other.

willow.....I have done what you are doing and it works just fine and no you are not a "fluffy". Usually one Goddess or God will call to me and I'll work with them for awhile and so on. I cross into other pantheons as well which will probably draw some criticism from others but OH. Well. I just go to who ever I need or who wants me. Works so why not?

I don't think it makes you a fluffy.

Fluffies tend to lie and justify stuff in nasty ways, like if you said you've never felt a connection to one so you think no one else has.

BTW:Good luck with the nasty Jesus answers you're getting.
