I have two cavity's on my left tooth, it's the one that is in the center on the left side. I'm 17 and these are the first cavity's i've ever gotten. I'm afraid that they'll put on one of those caps. I mean my dad said that they might just use some filling of something, but I'm not sure because i've never had this problem. Do you think they'll do a cap or just filling?

More than likely, they'll just fill it. They usually don't put caps on unless you've lost your tooth completely.

The need for a crown (cap) depends on the size of a cavity. Usually, if they are small little cavities, they will just clean out the affected area and put in the fillings. This shouldn't be anything too traumatic. Many patients dont even need to be numb, depending on what your dentist choose to use to remove the decay.
If the cavities are extremely large, they may discuss the options with you. Even if you needed to get a crown done, it is also not anything too bad. If made well they almost exactly the same as the other tooth.

I'm sure they will just fill them. Don't worry. It won't hurt. Everyone gets anxious going to the dentist. You don't even feel the needle. Believe me, I used to have all my teeth filled without a novacaine until a new dentist wouldn't attempt to fill without giving me one. I was afraid for nothing. They just know what they are doing. So, relax, think pleasant thoughts and it will be over before you know it. No sense getting worried about a cap. Listen to your Dad.

I hope I helped alleviate some anxiety for you. It is just so important to take care of your teeth. A hug for good luck.

Probably a filling. But check with the dentist, and find out for sure.
