Veracruz is the name of one of our main ports in Mexico. And yeah, the ethimology does indicate that the name relates to a "True Cross"....

Yes.. Vera = true - Cruz = cross

Veracruz = Mexican city.

Vera Cruz, if you think about it, could also be a woman's name. Vera is a name and Cruz is a last name.
