The bible calls him the Father, or He, or Him. Sound like a woman? So thats what we call him and always should call him.

We are made either male or female so we can become either fathers or mothers of the children.

If God is Male, He will need a Female. If God is Female, then He will need a male to creat babies.

But God does not need to be father or mother. He can create humans like he did creat Adam from nothing without help of any one.

Beside if God has a spouse, He will have spousal problems. That will interefer His taking care of the entire universe that He has created and keep creating new ones for future millaniums. He can do it all by Himslef and does not need help or interference of any spouse who will also demand equal rights to rule the world and may want to kill God to rule the universe himself/herself.

This is th same argument that Wiccans have. There is One Great Spirit, that has both male and female qualities, and there are manifest in the image of the Goddess and the God. There is no names for them but there are thousands. All the Gods are one God and all the Goddesses are one Goddess. and the God and Goddess are one being.

My question is this, if God were only male and able to produce life on His own, then why did He not create an asexual man? Why create woman? What was his purpose in creating something human so unlike Himself?

God is a he. Man was made in God's image. God is a he....
Yes he created female also. The church is the bride of Christ.
We are all his bride. How can we be a bride if there is no Groom? God can be a mother and a father to a person because he has all of the characteristics of a true parent since all life originated from Him. He knows how to care for and maintain life. Now God is not a man, because he is not a created being. But He is a he. Man came first because God made man in his image. But Also woman is made in God's image. And the characteristics of man God has (like destined to be the head, the protector, the provider), and also that of a woman.(made to be nurturing, caring, compassionate, and a caregiver) He can identify with all because He is all and He is in all. He created us all. But he is a he.

The Bible says God is not a man that he should lie...the key part to this statement is that God is not a man!! We serve a supernatural God. So we as humans need to stop trying to conform God into our ways of thinking. He is the great I am! Why isn't that enough? He is more than enough. Don't put God in an earthly body. Jesus killed the flesh and assended into to heaven in an incorruptable body. A non flesh body. So he does not have the same make-up as us. God is love, does love have a gender??

I agree, I think God could be both. A hermaphrodite, it makes sense. God probably sat down one day and looked at himself and said " I would like to make a species one male with my male parts and one female with my other parts, this way they can breed and make lots of little me's with different parts of me or even make them exactly like me with both parts" anything is possible. Sorry it just came out of my head like this, no disrespect to anyone it's just so silly how people are so religiously motivated these days, like putting a label on God as either man or woman, when realistically God is probably both, but we will never know until we are in heaven and get to see for ourselves.

I call God, "Him", just for simplicity. I believe, however that you are exactly right. When I pray out loud with other people, which is extremely rare, , I address God as my mother/father God. I don't think sex is truly an issue here. God is God, just that simple. I don't really think that God has a predominant sex. It's just because we lived in a male rules all culture that God ended up as a he. Also, back when, that was correct English. It really doesn't matter. God is who God is, no matter what God is called.
Blessed Be

The Bible was written by man, so of course they would make God a male. It's a book and should not be read so literally. I say go with what makes you more comfortable. Anyone who says different, well I won't go there. Just remember that before Christianity, most pagan religions worshipped female gods since through us life continues.

Because, this is not what the word of God says. He says, we are to call Him Father.

You must be very careful for what you say, God is not Female.

He put Man as the head of the household and to marry (not to live with) woman. Remember woman was made from the rib of Adam, but in no way or we any less in the eyes of God.

Genesis 1:26 - "And God said Let US make man in OUR image."
Who was the US and OUR He was referring to? It was Mother God, of course! There is Father God and Mother God. If you go back to the ancient scrolls and scriptures you will find hudreds of referrences to a Mother God. She has often been mistaken for Mary but she is our Heavenly Mother. God made all things male and female, even down to plants and sea life. And if we are all made male and female, and we were created in God's image, what must God be? Male and female! I always recognize and pray to a Mother and Father God.

If you believe in the Bible as God's written word, then you would know that many times, god is portrayed in feminine as well as masculine terms. Remember that in the bible's creation myth it says that the gods created man in their image, male and female he created them. So, the bible teaches that the bible god is neither male or female, but men and women manifest different aspects of this bible god.
