Ahh, but you see, you're not suppose to question the authority of the church or the interpretations of Scripture. You're just suppose to believe what you're told to believe.Otherwise you will fall under the spell of thinking like I did and realize that faith is just a nice word for delusion and having faith is having a self held delusion.God doesn't work in mysterious ways because there isn't a God.But don't tell anyone I told you so. Otherwise they will say that God is testing your faith.

God does work in ways we don't understand. I don't think it is used as an excuse because we don't know an answer to a question...I freely admit, I am not a Bible scholar...I have read it, but I don't have it down to memory and some I just don't understand...but I get the main thing I am to understand...I got saved..
and just for the record,,,I don't know what inconsistencies you are finding,,,,I haven't seen them. There is always a reason for something if you ask the right person...Just because you don't know,,,doesn't mean there isn't someone out there, who does.....

Not understanding WHY something occurred cannot even be close to assuming that anyone has inconsistent beliefs. Perhaps we have evolving beliefs, or knowledge, but no one can expect anyone at any given time to always understand fully if there was an intention of any sort within the mind of God to **make** something occur or even **condone** something to occur.

Presumed in your question is that humans can understand everything that happens in life, if it is examined enough. That is not true. It is true that we do not know all the answers. It is not true that the Bible has inconsistencies however. God, the Supreme Being and Creator, must know what we do not and cannot know. So, this does fit together if you accept God's all-knowing nature.

--THAT WOULD seem to be the wisest way of finding most answers, rather than practice a blind faith, which is totally inconsistent with the Bible!
--IF YOU ARE referring to so-called --
MYSTERIES in doctrine, such as the trinity, hellfire, immortallity of the soul , purgatory and any other unexplainable teachings.
--GOD DOES NOT deal with unsolved mysteries! FOR HE has never been a mystery, to his Son, his angels, to Adam & Eve etc.
--IF IN FACT as Jesus said here at
John 4:24 that "God is a spirit and those worshipping him must worship him in spirit & in truth"
***TRUTH cannot contradict itself, otherwise it is not the truth!

That usually is said by people who have experienced the "mysterious ways" in their own lives. With patience many of the "mysterious ways" experiences come to be understood later on.

Saying God is the answer does not resolve anything, it adds nothing to our understanding and in fact it results in even more questions to be answered. Bringing God in as an explanation of anything is an unnecessary extra complication not a clarification.

The people who say this also say that nobody can know the mind of God. So how do they know he/she/it works in mysterious ways? How do they know he/she/it works at all?

We are told in the Bible that some things are secret and known to God only. We are told not to seek after the knowledge of these things. The statement that "God works in mysterious ways" is true because the bible tells us that it is. I don't think it is an excuse to give this answer when we dont understand things.

NO, some don't answer because they can not find the words to explain what they know to be true, while others just don't want to take the time to explain it. Specifically, what are you criticizing?
